Pros
Potential for good commission based pay Employee discount
Cons
Commissions do not reflect skill required or difficulty of tasks Commissions for some jobs were based on dollar value of product that customer purchased Sales associates received commissions for services that technicians recommended to customers (no work on the sales associates' part) Management more interested in increasing their own bonuses instead of providing real value (would not replace broken equipment because cost would lower bonus) Used faulty indicators to recommend unneeded service (antifreeze/ coolant flushes were recommended for almost all vehicles - even the antifreeze we replaced it with barely passed) Sears leadership not making good strategic decisions (outdated systems and antiquated layout losing customers to Wal-Mart, Home Depot, etc.)
