NIGHTMARE JOB!!!!!

Pros

As a fix tech. you'll get a van, gas card, home-based, company cell & a computer(sst)

Cons

They have a metric system to evaluate technicians. The metric system is a joke. You'll never hit those numbers and tech managers always find something about you to complain. You work long hours, difficult jobs/ high-end appliances that need time to troubleshoot and diagnose but, your managers won't give you enough time. You have only 15 minutes to diagnose and another 15-30 minutes to remove old part + install new parts + complete survey & paper works + clean work area + sell/renew/add extended warranties & Finnish the repairs(impossible). Sears wants tech to sell protection agreements(MPA) and sell cleaning products(VASP) they don't want a savvy & knowledgeable techs. They'll make you work overtime and 3 months later when your reviews are ready, they'll ask you why you're doing overtime?????(non-sense)! The harder you work the more calls you'll get per day. As an employee you are always under appreciated & never satisfied. They put you under a lot of pressure and it will bring your morals really down and low. Managers have no idea what tech have to go through(Long jobs, dirty houses with rats & roaches, no parking space near the service call, computer or cell not receiving signal to order or diagnose appliances). I worked there for 10 years and it was the worst job I've ever had. I am so glad I don't work for sears as it is a nightmare.
