Depressing work environment - Teller Seneca Savings Employee Review

Pros

Not sure about currently, but they used to give sick time that rolled over which is hard to find a job with sick time at all now a days. Vacation also rolled over if not used (but there was a cap).

Cons

Management likes to make you feel dumb and worthless. I would have to say the management there is what makes seneca the worst place to work. I've never felt like that with any other job I've had. They focus on your mistakes more and never acknowledge you for the great things you have done or acomplished. They never hire enough people. There has to be 2 people behind the teller line at all times so if you have to use the bathroom, you have to call someone else in the building to come stand there with the other teller until you come back.

Seneca Savings Response

We apologize for the tardy response. We mandate two tellers behind the counter at all times for employee safety. Seneca Savings takes great care to respect its employees and we are sorry you did not feel that way. We appreciate your feedback.

Pros

I came to Seneca Savings/Financial Quest after primarily working outside of banks for 24 years. I have always loved what I do, but the past 2 1/2 years at Seneca have been my favorite. I decided to move to the bank because I could clearly see that working for a community bank, specifically Seneca Savings, gave me the opportunity to make a difference. A difference to our clients/customers, my fellow employees and our community. Working at Seneca is like working with family and friends. I work closely with everyone from the CEO to tellers on a daily basis. We are all pulling in the same direction. Constant improvement is standard operating procedure. Working for a truly local bank where decisions are made locally and quickly is extremely satisfying. I plan on spending the rest of my career at Seneca Savings/Financial Quest. I believe in Senior Management and I believe in the people.

Cons

Not enough people know what a valuable asset a true community bank is.
