Pros

License renewal, CEU budget, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K matching are offered to employees at Sensible Care. There are good people on the team who support each other.

Cons

The pay is not enough for anyone who works at this company, unless you are a part of the "higher admin" or a doctor. From the patient care coordinators, therapists and those whose support the whole team, the pay is LOW!! The amount of work a therapist is expected to do with seeing 7 clients a day does not equate the salary that is given. No raises or bonuses are given to employees on their yearly anniversary. They will tell the therapists that a bonus is offered if you maintain a low cancellation rate but your numbers are never given to you to see how you are doing. Things have changed drastically at this company from the beginning of my employment to the end. It no longer felt that I was valued and it became more of how much money I produced the company. The culture of the company shifts as well. The CEO will say "therapists are the reasons that Sensible Care continues to do well," but when it comes to taking care of said therapists, there is no action! Words are not enough! Management doesn't want to hear the suggestions and implement said suggestions. When I first started at this company it was wonderful and I loved it! Now I would not recommend this to anyone in the field. Look elsewhere!

Sensible Care Response

We understand that a healthy work-life balance is vital, and we're proud to offer flexible scheduling for our clinicians, designed to fit seamlessly into their personal and professional lives. Additionally, we've always prioritized providing ample PTO, Sick, and Holiday pay to further facilitate this balance. Our newly implemented bonus structure is also a testament to our commitment to recognizing and rewarding the hard work of our therapists. I'd like to address the concern regarding the openness to feedback. While it's disheartening to hear this perception, please know that nearly all of the changes we've introduced have been inspired directly by the feedback of our team members. We aim for Sensible Care to be a top choice for professionals in the field, and we understand that this can only be achieved by genuinely listening to and valuing the insights of our incredible team.

Pros

The role provided valuable experience working with diverse clients in a fast-paced telehealth environment. It was a good opportunity to strengthen clinical skills, crisis assessment, documentation, and treatment planning. Some coworkers were supportive and collaborative, and the remote structure offered flexibility and convenience.

Cons

The productivity expectations were difficult to sustain long term, especially while balancing documentation, administrative responsibilities, and quality client care. Clinicians were required to use two separate EHR systems, which made workflows inefficient and time-consuming. One of the systems felt outdated and impractical, adding unnecessary stress and administrative burden to the workday. The onboarding and training process also felt rushed and insufficient for the complexity of the role. Much of the onboarding work was expected to be completed prior to the official start date and compensated at a significantly lower hourly rate. Beyond the initial training day and a brief follow-up the following week, there was limited structured support before clinicians were expected to begin seeing clients immediately. Appointments started on day one, leaving little time to become comfortable with the EHR systems, workflows, documentation expectations, and overall processes. There was also an expectation to maintain a high caseload as a “cushion” to account for cancellations, no-shows, and productivity requirements. This often resulted in overloaded schedules and made it difficult to maintain a sustainable work-life balance while still providing quality care and completing documentation thoroughly. Schedules could also become fragmented throughout the day, contributing to burnout. Communication and support from management were inconsistent, and there was significant pressure surrounding metrics and billable hours. Overall, the workload often felt heavier than what could realistically be completed during scheduled hours.
