Pros
- Decent overall compensation package including quarterly bonuses and additional monthly benefits like tech coverage, education, etc
- Remote work opportunities
- Quality coworkers
Cons
- Volatile market
- No sense of direction (plans change almost every month)
- No room for growth due to poor business planning
- Lots of nepotism (leads to unmotivated but 100% protected employees)
- Poor executive leadership
- Planning for quarters happens halfway through, meaning you have less time to get more done
- Constant layoffs (fear for job security)
- No internal communication about layoffs (suddenly people are just gone)
- Siloed work structure (if you're not senior level you know nothing)
- Certain teams/departments prioritized over others with impunity
- If results aren't instant, they don't want it (only interested in quick wins, not long term strategies)
- Poor financial planning and foresight
- Make decisions with no comprehension for the possibility of failure and have no back up plans
- Too reliant on 3rd party partnerships for revenue
- Conflicting time zones make some projects almost impossible to complete
- Certain teams do things on their own with no oversight or check-ins with the teams that should actually be doing it
- Executives will bypass managers to ask for favors from lower level employees, leaving everyone in the dark (this takes up time and money with no real oversight, communication or reason)
- No real recognition for work done if you're not one of the favored few (i.e. unless you are buddies with the CEO, they won't bother to learn to pronounce your name or acknowledge your existence)
- Expectation to work outside business hours if you want to get ahead
- Employees are overworked due to company's demand for more revenue
- Executives unwilling to make sacrifices to keep employees on (i.e. not willing to take paycut, take on more work or reduce personal bonuses to prevent layoffs)
- 'Restructuring' almost every other month
