Pros

The company has many good employees, most of the staff in the Wilmington and Boston offices are extremely friendly and outgoing. People are always willing to help. Payday lunches and free ice cream is nice.

Cons

The biggest downside has been the management team post Bain capital. A number of departments have been through numerous managers, one worse than the next. When Bain first joined there was a lot of talk of upward mobility. The only upward mobility happened to a few close friends of the original leadership. The rest of the executive team was either replaced, or let go. Development of the product was quickly outsourced to Bulgaria, where quality took a nosedive. Marketing remained a joke at the company, a completely disorganized team and it remains a revolving door position in terms of leadership, one worse than the other. The new office was supposed to be finished in early February, as of late October 2015 we just moved in. The place is packed with lies. For the last year we have seen mockups and renders of how nice and "cool" the new office would be. Instead we got high wall cubicles where employees are packed in like a bad case of tetris. Since they underplanned for new staffing, 90% of the staff / fun areas have been removed for more high wall cubicles, the only "fun" things that remain are a slide from one floor to the other, free snacks, and a free soda machine. The office design was supposedly being run through a team of "designers" but looks like it took a bad course. Everything is mismatched, nothing feels like it fits. It feels more like someone gave a large budget to frat boys and asked them to design an office. It is nothing like the Apple / Google style campuses we were promised. Support has continued to have poor hours, often forcing new hires from their agreed upon M-F 9-5 positions into working back to weekends for months at a time. In house development has been routinely blamed for many mistakes outsourced Bulgarian developers have made. Salaries continue to be a sore spot at the company. Many employees are extremely underpaid. Throughout my time at this company I have seen many close friends leave for jobs at 2x their salaries. Many employees leave for direct competitors as the company does not seem to ever enforce the non-compete. This leads to a great deal of frustration among the loyal employees who routinely turn down offers at competitor companies for nearly double the salary. Attitudes of the new Bain staff are among the worst I have experienced. It is a boys club, if you aren't in their club they routinely push people out of the company. We have lost many of our top talent that way. In early 2015 at our sales meeting the CEO said "what got us here won't get us there." It was a mantra that was repeated through the entire year. A lot of employees took it as a slap in the face, the employees that got us this incredible growth and huge valuation see it as meaning their work isn't important. They believe their hard work got us here and will get us there. Instead many of the people seen as leaders at SevOne are not given their chance to grow and are instead demoted to sit under new management that is completely unorganized.
