How Management Can Create a Positive and Healthy Work Environment - Barista Sheetz Employee Review

During my time with this organization, I encountered an extremely challenging and unprofessional work environment. The leadership and staff often resorted to yelling rather than providing constructive guidance or proper training. Expectations were placed on me to perform a wide range of duties without adequate support or resources. On one occasion, a fellow staff member even yelled directly in my face. The workplace culture was toxic marked by excessive gossip, rumor spreading, and drama. I also witnessed troubling instances of prejudice and racism, which were deeply disappointing and unacceptable. Despite this, many individuals would try to appear friendly, offering empty promises of friendship, management opportunities, and team building outside of work hours that never came to fruition. I was frequently tasked with covering others' breaks while rarely receiving coverage for my own. Additionally, I was expected to travel to multiple locations without compensation or consideration for my time. Nevertheless, I remained committed to my responsibilities. I kept my word in helping the team earn bonuses and successfully turned failing grades into top tier performance scores, which directly contributed to the development and success of several now thriving store locations, including the dining area and gas pumps added after 2018.
