Pros

Shields is a rapidly growing healthcare company that is improving care for patients by integrating pharmacy solutions into hospital systems. Every employee here is thoughtful and engaging. It is a unique open work environment where management engages with every employee to find solutions to complex problems in the healthcare system. Even better, Jack Shield, Founder & CEO, is a true force of nature. His energy and positive attitude is powerful and he loves building effective teams. He has spent the past 30 years building businesses across several healthcare verticals, so there is an incredible opportunity to learn from his experience.

Cons

Since the Company is a rapidly growing startup, the structure is constantly evolving. Although not a con, most everyone will be asked to step into new roles and help fill gaps as needed. Good problems to have!

Not sure The only thing I can think of is the benefits and that’s it which is a way to get employees in

Cons

The workplace culture feels very toxic and unprofessional. Instead of a collaborative healthcare environment, it often feels more like being back in high school, with cliques, gossip, favoritism, and constant “mean girl” energy., I experienced an atmosphere where coworkers seem more interested in talking about people than helping them succeed. The environment is draining, stressful, and makes it difficult to focus on patient care and professional growth. Management does little to improve the situation. Concerns are not addressed appropriately, and the culture seems to be accepted rather than corrected. Rather than feeling valued and supported, I feel micromanaged, judged, and isolated. Healthcare is already stressful enough without having to deal with workplace drama every day. If you are considering working here, I strongly recommend asking detailed questions about team dynamics, management support, employee turnover, and workplace culture before accepting a position.
