Flexible scheduling but very few hours available - Retail Sales Associate Sierra Employee Review

Pros

Flexible scheduling, small employee discount, provided snacks and drinks in the break room

Cons

Part time employees are often only scheduled one shift a week despite being available for more. Shifts are short, so this means you might only get 5 hours per week. Often, I'd only have up to 20 hours per week at most. Coworkers frequently call out, and despite not scheduling their employees much, the store isn't staffed enough.

Pros

Culture, management, environment is open

Cons

It takes for ever for anything to be done. We are a part of the TJX family and our systems are the slowest and most out of sync

Pros

Good opportunities for advancement if you are willing to work hard and take on additional responsibility.

Cons

Payroll and workload do not always seem to align. Weeks with heavier freight volume or increased workload do not necessarily come with additional payroll, which can make it difficult to meet expectations while maintaining standards. There is a strong focus on payroll efficiency, but at times it can feel like stores are being asked to accomplish more with the same or fewer resources. Eventually, there is only so much efficiency that can be gained without additional staffing and support.
