Pros

You get to go to a convention every year, about a third of the people there are nice.

Cons

If you get an offer from Signal’s Home Office I want you to run, not walk as far away as you can. The Home Office is a dysfunctional black hole where dreams go to die. The CEO is a narcissistic, sociopathic, misogynistic monster, who has created the most toxic workplace I’ve ever had the displeasure of encountering. He needs constant reassurance from his executive team and refuses to look at any failure as something he was a part of, instead blaming it on the coordinator and managerial level. Rather than look inward and see that he struggles himself with employee morale and retention, he spends his time planning new seating charts every month and deciding who today should be let go. There is no opportunity for upward mobility or growth. There is no opportunity for professional development outside of the “competencies” he has created himself. He believes that it is not the company’s job to help you grow, but rather your privilege to work here and find opportunities for professional growth in your free time and on your own dime. As for the executive team, there are a few good leaders, but mainly they have siloed themselves and their teams so much that no one’s in the office knows what anyone else is working on at any given time. Anyone above a senior manager position is just a yes man and is focused mainly on keeping their job, not helping their subordinates grow or the company be successful.

Pros

It's a job; there are no pros other than quitting.

Cons

Low pay due to the ungodly high rate of royalty fees a franchise has to pay 9 and 11% of each contract. The territory debt each franchise owner incurs is crazy! The territory debt is anywhere from $1-6 million to be paid back at aproxemintly 10%. Each franchise owner has to renew their franchise agreement every 3 years. Signal puts franchise owners into serious debt. Franchise owners are forced to enter into contracts with strategic partners at no profit, all the while being told it will help pay off the debt sooner, as if that is a good thing. Because of this model, the guards suffer the most. Franchise owners can't increase pay for the people who show up and do the hard part of the job. No one will move up in the franchise model; someone has to quit for that to happen. DOn't let the "career opportunities" that are preached fool you. They mean nothing and are just there to make you feel like you're achieving something when, in reality, you're not. The training provided is a complete joke and is highly overrated. You will be treated as if you're important, but it's just abuse. Abuse that starts from the very, very top.
