If you get an offer from Signal’s Home Office I want you to run, not walk as far away as you can. The Home Office is a dysfunctional black hole where dreams go to die. The CEO is a narcissistic, sociopathic, misogynistic monster, who has created the most toxic workplace I’ve ever had the displeasure of encountering. He needs constant reassurance from his executive team and refuses to look at any failure as something he was a part of, instead blaming it on the coordinator and managerial level. Rather than look inward and see that he struggles himself with employee morale and retention, he spends his time planning new seating charts every month and deciding who today should be let go. There is no opportunity for upward mobility or growth. There is no opportunity for professional development outside of the “competencies” he has created himself. He believes that it is not the company’s job to help you grow, but rather your privilege to work here and find opportunities for professional growth in your free time and on your own dime.
As for the executive team, there are a few good leaders, but mainly they have siloed themselves and their teams so much that no one’s in the office knows what anyone else is working on at any given time. Anyone above a senior manager position is just a yes man and is focused mainly on keeping their job, not helping their subordinates grow or the company be successful.
