Pros

The company is *rapidly* growing. This creates a solid blend of challenge and opportunity... where the company was historically the only notable player in a difficult-to-define space, there is increased competition in the emergent collaborative work management category. This means things move fast, which is sometimes thrilling and sometimes disorienting. I am impressed by my colleagues constantly and their ability to show up with brilliance and poise. The fact that the platform is so valuable in people's lives, and that people so passionately advocate for its use in their organizations, is the the most sustaining source of power for the company... and the ability to attract the best and brightest minds is a close second.

Cons

There are definitely growing pains which come rapid change. It seems that some stodgy "old ways" of working have been thoroughly debunked, and our leadership team is embracing changes... but the shift from pre-pandemic office culture into our current state has been unsettling for some. While we have lost some fantastic talent, our People & Culture team, HR, Recruiting, and indeed our senior leaders are making the right moves to build for the future.

Pros

- Remote work - Genuinely talented and collaborative individual contributors across data science and analytics - Interesting problem space with real product and customer data to work with

Cons

- BI leadership does not have hands-on data science experience, which showed in how projects were scoped, evaluated, and prioritized. - Lack of clear leadership direction for the data science function. Priorities shifted frequently, and long-term strategy was hard to pin down, which made it difficult to invest in impactful work. - Career development conversations did not match outcomes. In my case, a promotion was discussed and promised by the leadership, and I was laid off shortly after. Whether that reflects poor planning or poor faith, it left me questioning the integrity of the process. - Transparency around organizational decisions was limited, which eroded trust on the team.
