Pros

- Innovative product that competitors try to copy. - Leader in the space with competitors that do their best to talk down on Smartsheet to try and get a leg up. - Stable Leadership - Solid Compensation package that is constantly being reviewed (For example 3 months paid - salary and commission - Paternity Leave) - Coming out of the Pandemic, Smartsheet has done a good job to rethink how we work in a hybrid/fully remote manner and taken employee feedback well. - TAM is massive - Constant flow of potential customers evaluating and trialing Smartsheet

Cons

- Product is so robust that it does take a lot of time and dedication to feel comfortable in a customer facing role. However, this can actually be a Pro because Smartsheet can actually serve any customer from any industry/vertical and in any department.

Pros

- Remote work - Genuinely talented and collaborative individual contributors across data science and analytics - Interesting problem space with real product and customer data to work with

Cons

- BI leadership does not have hands-on data science experience, which showed in how projects were scoped, evaluated, and prioritized. - Lack of clear leadership direction for the data science function. Priorities shifted frequently, and long-term strategy was hard to pin down, which made it difficult to invest in impactful work. - Career development conversations did not match outcomes. In my case, a promotion was discussed and promised by the leadership, and I was laid off shortly after. Whether that reflects poor planning or poor faith, it left me questioning the integrity of the process. - Transparency around organizational decisions was limited, which eroded trust on the team.
