Pros

Everyone is super helpful and kind to newbies! There are no unnecessary meetings and everyone I work with is respectful of others' time. Clients are from all kinds of industries, making the job more interesting. Great pay and genuine appreciation from leadership. The company truly cares about DEI, social impact, and making a positive difference in the world.

Cons

It can take a little while to get ramped up and flowing, just because there really is so much to learn. Not sure if this is truly a con, though, as everything I've learned will only help me now and in the future.

Pros

- Remote work - Genuinely talented and collaborative individual contributors across data science and analytics - Interesting problem space with real product and customer data to work with

Cons

- BI leadership does not have hands-on data science experience, which showed in how projects were scoped, evaluated, and prioritized. - Lack of clear leadership direction for the data science function. Priorities shifted frequently, and long-term strategy was hard to pin down, which made it difficult to invest in impactful work. - Career development conversations did not match outcomes. In my case, a promotion was discussed and promised by the leadership, and I was laid off shortly after. Whether that reflects poor planning or poor faith, it left me questioning the integrity of the process. - Transparency around organizational decisions was limited, which eroded trust on the team.
