Pros

Very smart, friendly engineering and product teams. Great Benefits Mission based product with interesting and complex problems to solve, fueled by passionate, music loving employees. Culture has really great bones, fun ideas, creative, diverse people behind them, generally socially enjoyable.

Cons

Policies seem largely immutable and locked from discussion, even the smallest of suggestions is not actionable for the average employee--to the extent that many employees are unwilling to discuss their authentic feelings in fear of retaliation. Mandated in office schedule with performance measured on attendance (among other things) Political culture, management has self selected so only people with similar perspectives/values will be heard or promoted. Critiques and feedback may be received and given based on alignment with leadership perspective, rather than objective performance. (ex. Two employees can make perform the same actions, but only one might be called out for it) Virtue Signaling with regards to DEI. Performs moral baseline standard of having a DEI department, quoting the values, and widening the candidate net during hiring. Little to no further facilitation or involvement after headcount is explored. Difficult to change teams or be promoted if you are not aligned with leadership/playing the political game. Can not currently recommend to anyone requiring any level of mental health support or understanding.

Pros

- Most people around you are happy to work in this industry - Work is mostly low stress

Cons

- Very poor salaries - Slow/Non-existent career growth - Stay away if it is a temp posting, they'll tell you have the opportunity to get full time eventually but just keep renewing your contract for years so you never get benefits - Frequent layoffs
