Pros

Great atmosphere, Truly Embrace Agile thinking, open to new ideas from anybody, whole company has a great one team culture, emphasis on learning with everyone willing to mentor and help train. Great social activities that bring the teams together. Everyone is friendly and approachable. Fantastic product being developed. Overall the beat company I have ever worked for.

Cons

With all the free food and snacks can be hard to keep the weight off. But seriously there are no real cons of working here.

Pros

Free lunch. People I worked with.

Cons

If Sorenson Media still exists, it is likely just 5 executives with ownership, desperately holding on to a sinking ship, eating free lunches and planning trips to the Dominican Republic with investor money. Leadership egos lead to the company's demise. The CEO built the company on tall tales and smooth words. In an effort to keep up with the Silicon Slopes Joneses, they overhired, lied to employees, and spent like crazy. The HR leadership (people and place?) preferred deception and intimidation over transparency and honesty. Anyone that inferred that the company had issues was seen as a threat. "If we pretend like we're a billion dollar company, then we'll become a billion dollar company, right?". Up until the day they fired everyone, they were planning to move into a big new building, give everyone stock options, and change the world. In the end, none of the leaders were taking a risk to be there. They had already made money, and genuinely didn't care what happened. The CEO left as the ship started sinking. The CFO bolted when he saw the impending failure. The CMO was let go with everyone else. Even the new CEO is there as a favor to a friend. No one has a back up against the wall and that's why the company will not succeed. All those on the leadership team need to recognize they messed up hundreds of lives. They lied. "It's business" they'll say to themselves. "This stuff happens". However, they were amoral in the way they lied to employees and kicked them out with no warning. If you find yourself on the line with a Sorenson recruiter (are there any?), hang up the phone. Stay far away.
