Thank you for your review. As a former Southland employee, you are aware that people and accountability are two of our core values and providing personal and professional growth for our employees is a measurement of our success. As we continue to grow and create new opportunities for our employees, we view this as a positive attribute of Southland that historically has been a major source of excitement for our current and perspective employees. We also recognize that when growth occurs and employees are promoted, new leadership styles come into play which may differ from previous leadership. While some employees may not find this comfortable for them personally, we encourage our employees to discuss these concerns when they arise. We also recognize that if an employee is unable to adjust to the constant growth that Southland is currently experiencing, change may be necessary at some point.
Regarding the comments on greed, blame and special employee treatment, I would have to say that your observations are not the norm. While it’s true that Southland firmly believes in the concept of accountability, we do not place blame on anyone who could not have risen above their circumstances and taken ownership to achieve a desired outcome either internally or externally. Furthermore, there is no level within the organization that is exempt from that statement. Historically we’ve made some tough decisions to support this commitment to accountability by placing the right people in the right seats for the benefit of the organization, as opposed to benefiting any one person individually.
