Pros

Southwest Behavioral & Health Services has been more than just a workplace for me—it's been a place of growth, purpose, and genuine collaboration. Over the past 8 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside some of the most passionate, mission-driven professionals in the behavioral health field. The organization's commitment to community wellness and culturally responsive care is unwavering. Leadership consistently supports innovation, professional development, and staff well-being. I’ve been encouraged to bring ideas forward, and I've seen many of them come to life with the right support and structure. The benefits package is strong, the PTO is generous, and the flexibility around work-life balance is deeply appreciated. Most importantly, I’ve witnessed firsthand the positive impact our services have on the individuals and families we serve across Arizona.

Cons

As with any nonprofit healthcare organization, there are challenges with resources and navigating funding constraints.

Pros

talented and hardworking colleagues (under management level)

Cons

This company is TOXIC to staff. They do not care about patients, only billable hours and lining their own pockets. The C suite team makes exorbitant amounts of money while lower level staff barely survive. Large yearly bonuses are granted to this level, while hard working staff dont even get a thank you. In the last year, at least 10 staff of LONG tenure were let go because the company didnt want to pay out any retirement. They would rather cut staff of 30+ years with NO severance than risk losing their own yearly bonuses due to the hardships the company is experiencing. Upper manangement laughs about cutting staff due to RIF events. If you do not agree with the same side of politics they do, you are ostracized and made fun of. They say that they support a work/life balance, but they don't. Staff are so scared of losing their jobs right now that they are afraid to be noticed by management for any reason, good or bad. They like to hear themselves talk, but don't listen to you. They are too busy taking the higher ups on expensive resort style trips while staff are getting cut from their jobs. meanwhile, you are treated badly for wanting to use your own hard earned PTO. I cannot say this loud enough- STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Their only mission is to line their personal bank accounts at the expense of the patients needing help. I also drive patients back and forth from appts in company vehicles that are NOT safe to be on the road! they are falling apart, and not maintained properly.
