Pros

My direct supervisor and her supervisor are amazing. I love the memes and helping them for the most part. My supervisor advocates for me, sticks up for me, and supports me

Cons

I'm in the day program studying to be a substance abuse counselor which would eventually put me in the outpatient building. One staff member on the high needs team in that building has had an inappropriate relationship with a member, has had multiple IRs due to inappropriate things she shared. She has the personality of a prison guard. I don't care for her but have never made a complaint. Her immediate supervisor and her are good friends. Her immediate supervisor has something out for me and I'm not sure. My supervisor has even noticed this and brought it up in a meeting that she has it out for me for some reason. I can tell because of the emails she sends me and how she talks to me. I can only assume she knows I don't care for her friend for valid reasons. Regardless the bullying is very unprofessionalism and I fear relocating to that building after graduating. Also, I live in a tourist town but make the same pay as the rest of my state. Cost of living here is MUCH higher and the pay really doesn't match that

Pros

Southwest Behavioral & Health Services has been more than just a workplace for me—it's been a place of growth, purpose, and genuine collaboration. Over the past 8 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside some of the most passionate, mission-driven professionals in the behavioral health field. The organization's commitment to community wellness and culturally responsive care is unwavering. Leadership consistently supports innovation, professional development, and staff well-being. I’ve been encouraged to bring ideas forward, and I've seen many of them come to life with the right support and structure. The benefits package is strong, the PTO is generous, and the flexibility around work-life balance is deeply appreciated. Most importantly, I’ve witnessed firsthand the positive impact our services have on the individuals and families we serve across Arizona.

Cons

As with any nonprofit healthcare organization, there are challenges with resources and navigating funding constraints.
