Pros

There are still a few good people around at the clinical level. No other pros.

Cons

Education and skill are not paramount. The company is too large and corporate. Salaries are mediocre and stagnant and management from the top is distant but will frequently change policies having major impacts on work flow. Middle and lower management are frequently disengaged, unsupportive and not skilled in the field or as managers. Middle management is more of a business team with the goal of avoiding real work. The vast majority of the experienced and skilled personnel have left or been forced out. They consistently eliminated incentive structures. Caseload is insane with sometimes weekly travel and with administrative and clinical expectations combined 50-60 hour weeks are the norm while some who speak better business and corporate jargon(being generally disingenuous) can gain the system to do much less with little consequence. You will be expected to be on call 60 hours a week minimum 0600-1800 M-F. Time off is burdensome to request and is impossible on short notice. Since SC was acquired by Morgan Stanley things have progressively gotten worse with disappearing incentive pay for extremely long and burdensome schedules. The pandemic only saw a few weeks of slow down in most markets but the company used this as an excuse to dock pay by 25% at minimum for 90 days(almost 13 weeks) suspiciously during valuation and due diligence during their last sale to Morgan Stanley. Promotion is based more off your ability to complete ridiculous amounts of paperwork but don't worry you need your other colleagues to put time aside for you because you need them to help you get promoted and if you are lucky enough to live in a market where there is time to complete the process and has little to do with skill or merit. They hire less and less experienced CNIMs and instead push to train anyone with a heartbeat and a 4 year degree for pennies. It's just another example of industry consolidation pushing salaries down in an industry where they should be increasing(my base salary hadn't increased since 2016 in the industry). Other SNPs with 15 years at the company are making the same salary I was and I transferred from a marked with 30% lower cost of living. Clinicians going through the SNP training program have to have a spouse with a high paying career or multiple incomes to make ends meet in many markets. To sum up: poor pay, mediocre benefits, no work life balance, out of touch and bloated management structure, poor corporate environment, and gate kept advancement opportunities. This place essentially ended my 15 year career in IONM because it made the entire industry look unappealing with the level of burnout the corporate talking heads induce in their staff. A perfect example of what is destroying the entire private Neurodiagnostic and IOM industry.
