Pros
You get to develop relationships with customers. The work is pretty easy. You can move up fast, at least to a General Manager after that upward movement becomes almost impossible.
Cons
Pay is lower than almost all other jobs in the area. Most of the benefits kept getting cut/reduced or eliminated year after year. Company is too focused on pinching pennies to to improve working conditions. They forced management to run the stores at as few labor hours as possible, this made completing all the work needed to be done impossible. The low staffing would cause management to end up working ridiculous hours with General Managers being salary you basically ended up working 10+ hours a week for free on top of your scheduled 50. They made changes like taking away sick pay and bonuses for retail employees causing most of the good long time employees to leave.
