Pros
Flexible, relaxed environment with great benefits. Great team members that genuinely care how well things are built and how well they work. Management that really cares about their team members. Growing company with good projects in many verticals and domains. Actively growing marketing presence, locally and nationally. Location in Holland is fantastic; the Grand Rapids office is a nice plus.
Cons
SpinDance is actively addressing all of my known cons, but I'll list them anyway. The company grew historically by referral business (which is a positive, really); as a result, they have done almost no marketing, which, unfortunately, means that not many people know about SpinDance, because there isn't an established presence in the local (greater Grand Rapids) development community (this is changing already). The Grand Rapids office is newer and there are fewer people that regularly use that office (this is also changing). The office itself in Holland is located in a newer building with very little background noise, so the office can sometimes get a little too quiet; the team seems to be outgrowing their existing office and thus, there are days where there are not enough conference rooms to go around (there are already discussions about this). SpinDance has no products of their own (being a consultancy), so project quality varies (though, most of the time, the projects are good); they have communicated to the team that they intend to launch some of their own products in the near future, which will be nice.
