Pros
There are many incredible, brilliant and kind people who have joined Spire over the years and stick around in hopes of the company getting better.
Cons
Nepotism is rampant, with many new "Peter specials" being brought into the company and new, unnecessary positions created for them. This has created a toxic upper management chain across the organization that is driving employees out in droves. Over the past year the company culture took a bad turn, where "group think" is promoted and employees who aren't company fanatics are punished for questioning bad decision making. Absolutely no transparency to employees. The rumor mill is active, and unfortunately many times correct. On hires, demotions, company revenue, etc. Morale and engagement are at an all time low and it has been dragging company revenue down with it. As a result, Peter made the decision to bring everyone back into the office before it was feasible from a space and legality standpoint rather than listening to the needs of employees. There is no concern for employees well-being. After an employee died of covid last year, the office in DC continued to defy local regulations and have full office staff with no mask wearing. Luxembourg is not following the laws with their back to office regulations either, and e-staff told employees who brought this to their attention that they do not care. The concept of PTO is non-existent, with many employees being forced to work even when ill because the company "runs lean teams", which is really just code for overworking staff.
