Pros

The Spire products are innovative and focused on space based earth observation from the companies own satellites, which they design and then operate. Company is on typical startup to public company growth path. The products are rewarding to work on and the the innovation exciting to be around.

Cons

Extremely cost focussed in the search for profitability which is limiting the ability to fully invest in growth. However the financial indicators are good and we expect to get stronger and stronger financially. Share grants are given instead of bonuses and they take a long time to realise their value. Benefits are limited. Typical of startup to growth business, expectations are very high and work life balance can be very challenging.

Pros

PTO benefits were solid. Many of the non-executive hires are highly capable and easy to work with.

Cons

There appears to be a lack of clear direction at the organizational level, with a primary focus on short-term financial outcomes. Office spaces are largely underutilized and not well maintained. There is also a noticeable disconnect between leadership flexibility and expectations placed on newer employees regarding in-office presence. Overall morale seems to be impacted.
