Pros

Spire has a cool product, so it's fun to explain what type of company you work for. Especially if you're new to the industry, you'll learn a lot about the aerospace industry and capabilities you never knew were possible. Employees are spread out around the world so you also get a good experience in working with global companies and coworkers from different backgrounds. You can also learn different ways to collaborate and work together when your colleagues are spread out. Thank goodness for Teams!

Cons

It *could* be a good learning experience in the aerospace industry and technological advancements, except Spire has been around for 10+ years and still operates like a startup. They don't seem to have any of the basic fundamentals of running or scaling a business locked in. I've worked at several similar size/age companies and Spire just doesn't have the same internal infrastructure in place - from communicating business goals with employees, being transparent on big news stories (like lawsuits, layoffs, stock drops), collaboration between teams, even policies and how to manage employees needs. It feels like there is no comprehensive strategy for how the company would like to grow.

Pros

PTO benefits were solid. Many of the non-executive hires are highly capable and easy to work with.

Cons

There appears to be a lack of clear direction at the organizational level, with a primary focus on short-term financial outcomes. Office spaces are largely underutilized and not well maintained. There is also a noticeable disconnect between leadership flexibility and expectations placed on newer employees regarding in-office presence. Overall morale seems to be impacted.
