Pros

Product: The product is best-in-class and outshines the competition. People: Very smart colleagues that do their best to improve the company. R&R days

Cons

Pay: Sprout’s lack of annual pay increases has been called out in a number of reviews and over time it creates a disparity between your market value and what you actually make. The more time you spend at the company the less you make compared to those at your level at other companies. Loyalty isn’t rewarded in any way beyond a special sweatshirt or backpack. Recognition and promotions: Promotions and raises are based on a review from your manager that is brought to a calibration process between the senior leaders of the department, senior leaders that most individuals in that department won't interface with. Since there is a lack of recognition from the leaders on the team, employees have to rely on overly promoting themselves internally to get in front of those leaders and to get a promotion or raise. That creates a very political and competitive culture. Feedback: Even though feedback is said to be critical at Sprout, it’s hard to get meaningful feedback outside the annual review process. There's a lack of information shared from the top down. Info on where the company is going, how we're getting there, and changes that are made to face new challenges. This used to be shared during monthly all-hands or internal emails, but all hands have been moved to quarterly and there are rarely email updates that keep employees up to date.

Pros

Sprout Social has a genuinely friendly, collaborative culture. People are smart, welcoming, and easy to work with across teams, and there's a real sense of camaraderie that makes the day-to-day enjoyable.

Cons

Where things consistently fall short is follow-through. Programs launch with a lot of enthusiasm and visibility, but the operational discipline to sustain, measure, and iterate on them after launch tends to fade. This creates a pattern where good ideas don't get the long-term investment they need to actually stick or show results, which can be frustrating for people who are trying to build durable, scalable systems. There also doesn't seem to be a clear long-term plan that the field can execute against. Priorities can feel like they shift often, which makes it hard to know where to focus or what direction to move in. Getting direct, straightforward answers from leadership on strategy and direction was often difficult.
