Pros
The general work culture is positive and healthy. The university has a strong sense of mission, and most folks working there do believe in it. Individual offices may vary still, mine was not particularly healthy. Time off felt fair and presidential gift days were generous. Student population is really excellent, involved, and a huge plus for student-facing positions. Lots of creativity and innovation on the college experience.
Cons
The university has suffered from upper leadership unfamiliar with higher education. Decisions are made based on bottom line instead of the needs of students, faculty, and staff. There will be a presidential change soon, so that may change. Pay is low across the board, with not enough other forms of compensation. Burnout is also very rampant amongst staff due to this group of issues.
