Pros

Close to home Low cost healthcare IF you're a St Luke's patient Cheap cafeteria food Enough ConEd education to cover recertification

Cons

Other companies/squads in the area have higher pay rates for Paramedics Not enough parking at certain stations for the amount of crews that they have working out of the building. New ambulances that were ordered constantly break down requiring, sometimes multiple, truck swaps per day Extra slow wifi, including dead spot areas for cell reception in the hospitals, make it near impossible to use your phone at times on break. Management who were former field staff that claim they want to make a station better but openly admit that they, and their old station, use to laugh at their new station. Management use company vehicles, that are licensed ALS QRS vehicles, as personal take home vehicles while not keeping the state required equipment/drugs on the truck making it useless if they ever needed it for an emergency/illegal to operate as an ALS QRS vehicle. Expected to do IFT transport in severe weather when every other company in the area is postponing transports, including long distance transport for other health systems that we are not a part of.
