Pros

SLUHN utilizes EPIC, which is a fantastic EMR system.

Cons

1. Base pay is below market value and is directly impacted by a value-based scorecard (BMIs, mammograms, etc.) that is ultimately out of your control. 2. HEAVY focus on quantity of care over quality of care. They're a patient factory that pressures you to see more patients daily than you can reasonably manage. You're not encouraged to provide care that meets patients' individual needs. I spent HOURS of my own time every week catching up to prevent falling too far behind. 3. ZERO respect for anyone who has an opinion and is willing to advocate for themselves, their colleagues or their patients. You're immediately targeted and subjected to passive-aggressive retaliation. 4. Management/leadership cannot be trusted. Get a good lawyer for advice and guidance, and seek legal counsel before signing anything. Ask for everything in an email or writing - they love to verbally discuss things (no paper trail), then do something different or lie about what they said and feign confusion when you get upset. Retain hard copies of any important emails or communications. 5. Heavy PR influence. They contracted a writer to compose a press release about my practice, who reworded what I'd said and used quotation marks; when questioned, she said she was instructed to do so. 6. I could write a small novel on every reason to avoid working here, but those are the major highlights. If you value yourself as a clinician and human being, avoid working here at all costs - I promise, you deserve better.

There aren’t any pros I can think of.

Cons

Too many to list but know that you do not matter this network. They have no respect for the people working for them!

Shocked

Pros

I received a paycheck every two weeks.

Cons

Was shocked to find out how this non profit operated and what they allowed their employees to put on company credit cards, most time with no receipts...dog bones, swim goggles, alcohol, spa treatments, daily visits to restaurants, gift cards, filling up their gas tanks, etc.. and the nepotism and cronyism, not getting bids just hiring their friends and family at any cost.
