Pros

Good benefits, lots of opportunity to move into new career paths, the fellowships for OR ER ICU and OB are great ways to start out in better direction vs med surg and continue to learn and grow as a new nurse, they offer a pension plan.

Cons

Terrible management is common, pay is lower than other networks, the nurse residency program is a total waste of time and all it does it lock you in, always short staffed and about the money and not the patients or employees. They do not value you and you are just a number. Cut throat and horrible environment to work in. Always threatened with write ups for dumb things like white boards. Never appreciated or told you do a good job they will eat you alive for that one tiny thing you missed in a crazy hectic day. Nasty nurses and drama central. Nurses literally bickering in front of everyone. This place will burn you out. Finding a good unit with good management etc is not likely.
