Pros
The work itself was rewarding and I enjoyed the staff that I worked with. I loved my patients and being able to help them in their time of need.
Cons
I was so excited to start this position and thought it was going to be my "hire to retire" role, but that was not my experience. I was treated very poorly at this job, being brought to tears almost on a daily basis. There was no proper orientation for the role, the manager did not have a social work background and did not understand the role, and the work expectations were inconsistent as our work requirements would change constantly. High turnover rate due to poor management and employee burnout. I will not list specific examples, but when I tried to ask for help regarding the toxic work environment I had been written up with the claim of having an "outburst". HR was unsupportive as well. It was very shocking to see this come from a large healthcare system.
