Pros
1. Tight-knit working environment allows for team bonding with your department. Great environment if you have initiative in your job! Those who do not have initiative will be quickly weeded out. 2. Frequent interaction with the same participants allows for continuity of care. Participants become like family. Great meaning and satisfaction to your job. 3. Solid and dependable hours. What RN gets to work M-F 8-4:30? 4. You can make it a healthy working environment if you keep your head down and serve your patients.
Cons
1. General distrust of upper management. Recent employee survey indicates this...please do something about it. 2. Lack of clearly defined roles and responsibilities allow for "finger pointing" and miscommunication among staff. 3. Decisions/management is easily swayed by those who "push" hardest rather than objective data. 4. Due to being such a small company, morale is greatly affected by drama and staffing changes. It's like a roller coaster. 5. Employees are generally seen as expendable (from the front-line point of view). HR will walk you out humiliatingly without hesitation.
