Pros
Stantec is a very large company, which means you get to interact with a lot of different people in your field and work on some massive interdisciplinary projects. Pay was above average, benefits are on par with others. I agree with the company ethics of barring political donations as leverage for work, which happens quite a bit in other companies. Work environment was better than average in my office, but I know the same could not be said across the board. There is work from home options and most of management will allow a great deal of flexibility. I think it was a great place to learn and grow my knowledge of the civil industry.
Cons
Because of the large size, there is a decent amount of bureaucracy. Also, the company has a tendency to only go after big jobs which means as an entry level or junior engineer, you can expect to do the same thing for months at a time. There is also a lack of software standards that sometimes makes for issues inside projects or when sharing between groups working on the same project. You will also be beholden to the productivity metrics, which is not a great feeling when you simultaneously have to get things done fast, yet stretch them out to have billable time.
