Pros
lots of amenities for someone with a family - state farm park has a pool geared for kids of all ages plus kiddie water slides, it also has tennis courts, frisbee golf courses, and kiddie playgrounds - the company is really understanding of people who have small children or families- lots of employees have kids and you are encouraged to bring your kids to work - the company allows workers to work from home a couple days a week to take care of their kids provided you have worked here long enough and are on good terms with your boss or even leave early to pick up your kids and then work later afterward
Cons
-the company is not friendly for young, single, unmarried people -first headquarters location is in the middle of nowhere. like seriously if you drive a few minutes from state farm's headquarters you see cornfields. so not surprisingly, young people do not gravitate toward this company. -it is really hard to meet people in their 20s here. again not surprising because of its location. - the managers have really high expectations. and many times, their evaluations are not purely based upon skill but rather how you appear to them. to succeed with management, you often have to appear you are working hard. they expect you to take your laptops home after work but not get paid for that.
