Pros
The ONLY pro of this place is the residents. I did meet the CEO, he seemed nice.
Cons
Pay- I have years of customer service experience and I was making just barely above minimum wage. People hired after me were making significantly more. But they had tons to spend on a holiday party where they gave out Instapots and Roombas and Shark Vaccums. Staffing- I can't tell you how many times the kitchen was closed, or IP services were canceled due to lack of staff. I had to do IP duties as a receptionist during my shift, then go "talked to" for leaving the desk -Not actually talk to though, management doesn't like confrontation, she sends out mass emails with "reminders" to the entire front desk staff. Just talk to the one person -Turn over- in the few months I was there, I trained 5 different receptionists -Scheduling- I was hired for a set schedule. 4 days/week. I go to school full-time. I was working 5-6 days when I left. They asked me to work 16 hours on Christmas Eve -Gossip- Other staff gossiping with staff about staff, or with residents about staff, even with residents about residents -Old People- look, I know it's Independent Living, but these people need help sometimes. They would throw up their hands and be like "it's independent living" and not help them, absolutely no human compassion. I had a lady who looked like she was having a stroke and thought it was 1980. I got the manager and she said "It's Independent Living" It's an excuse to not leave the office Treatment of staff- The ABOM and BOM are not nice people. They are petty and don't care. They do whatever they want and talk down to others. The ABOM is incredibly condescending and seems to think he is better than everyone. Also, this place is so incredibly expensive for the residents. Think current market 2 bed/2bath apartment and double it. For what? A closed kitchen, no guarantee of transportation, staff to gossip about them, no IP services. They can independently live in an apartment so much cheaper, but what do I know. Literally- DO NOT WORK HERE
