This is a call center where you are “Dialing for the dollar” which for me feels derogatory. There isn’t a lot you can do to improve your closed deals outside of be lucky and speak to someone who was looking to “purge” anyway. Base is 40-45k do not expect to make more than that. Also it’s not salary, it’s hourly. You have to hit 120% of your goal to make any actual money. They don’t use positive reinforcement to motivate you, it’s all punitive. Make your goals or be placed on a PIP (SIP in this case I guess). This place is a mill. They have one WFH day (Friday) that they constantly threaten to take away. Either give people more WFH days or full time onsite. People are already here 4 days a week what’s the difference, you’re not scaring anyone into being more productive. The company was recently acquired by another large company and all they have done is push the metrics higher. I don’t believe the Shred-it portion of this company will be around much longer due to the highly replicable nature of the service. There are so many competitors who offer this same service for much cheaper. It’s exhausting explaining to customers why they are paying an additional $200 for invisible service fees that are not gas and recycling. It’s not ethical. Also a lot of time is spent fighting over deals with people from other teams which is dehumanizing. I felt like a dog fighting over a bone. Did I personally need this experience? Yes! I learned what I DO NOT WANT. If you’re fresh out of college take the offer do not stay over a year. Get the experience and go apply for a real sales role.
