Pros

They have a really pretty lobby?

Cons

The work environment for APPs is incredibly toxic. They force unsafe work environments and make YOU the bad guy when you voice concerns. They refuse to give you PTO or sick leave during a pandemic? How is that possibly ethical? Work you until you’re dead inside and if you get sick, you’re out of luck. They have the Summit Strong, family values facade that they use to force you into practices you don’t agree with, but whenever you need the support of ANY of the management or executives, you’re on your own. This is a hospital by executives, for executives. Profit before patients. Everything before providers. Staff is leaving en masse. If you are even considering this place STAY AWAY.

Pros

This probably depends a lot on your team/department, but if you want to learn, grow, and do new things, this is the place for you. My managers always involved the team in developing new policies and programs. My ideas were always welcomed. The team worked really well together and I didn't think we had any issues with triangulation or other chicanery. There's opportunity for movement both laterally and vertically. Training is readily available, and they support continuing education. The facility is shwank, the technology is up to date and IT is great. If you're patient facing, 95% of the feedback you'll receive about the providers and SPMC is glowingly positive, which is nice to hear.

Cons

This is both a pro and a con really - SPMC innovates. They are always trying new programs to better serve patients and the community. While these services are valuable, the changes can create little bit of uncertainty. But it's for the overall good and does create those opportunities for staff to stretch their skills.

Pros

I had an amazing team of employees who truly wanted to see a change at SPMC. Summit has the necessary tech and people to lead. So many smart people who work hard and take amazing care of their patients. For a small clinic and hospital in a small town I was very impressed with the care Patients received. There really are a few amazing leaders that work for SPMC. The benefits and pay are decent at SPMC and I did appreciate that. I did like that Josh would make his round and talk with staff. Jennifer B. Was always very kind as well.

Cons

The negative culture does not want to change. Doesn’t matter how many new people come in, until the culture changes, the climate will continue to change like the seasons. Constant Micromanagement, gaslighting, targeting, bullying, ganging up on team members and pushing them out. When someone stands up for someone they are the new target. SPMC is afraid of change and changing. It’s a small town with many people from the town working there. People who have grown up together and now work together. Everyone knows about each other.
