Pros
Summit Pacific is a fantastic place to work, especially for a rural hospital. The pay is competitive, and the benefits are great—there’s about a 4% match for retirement and excellent coverage through Premera insurance, with low copays and deductibles. One of the things I love most is Summit’s focus on community engagement and well-being. There are always volunteer opportunities, which makes you feel like you're contributing to something bigger. Plus, for a hospital of this size, the services offered are extensive, and they’re even doubling the size of the hospital without needing community funding—something you don’t see often with public hospitals. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic. Each day brings something new, and there are always innovative changes happening. I really appreciate how easy it is to get help when needed—whether it’s placing a ticket for computer support or getting something fixed quickly. There's always someone available to assist. Summit also promotes from within. I work with several people who have moved up the ladder at Summit. I’m proud to be part of this team and to contribute to creating the healthiest community in the nation!
Cons
Sometimes too fast paced and if you're not paying attention, you could miss something important. There is an issue with organizational knowledge due to disjointed departments and too many internal computer platforms for sharing and receiving information.
