Pros

- Summit really is at the vanguard of the national movement to personalize learning, and it's working with a really heterogeneous group of students in doing so - Everyone at Summit - from every teacher to the CEO - is highly committed to serving students ever better - Summit is really committed to educator PL, and has a lot of other school systems trying to learn from its systems. Every educator has a coach, every educator gets over 8 weeks of dedicated PD time per year, and PD is personalized and puts educators at the center so that they self-direct their growth. - Educators have the opportunity to build relationships with students as a teacher and also as a mentor, which is a core part of adults' and students' experience at Summit schools.

Cons

- Because Summit's innovating so much, systems change more frequently than the average school system I bet. We do more things before they're 100% perfect - which has pros and cons. - Teachers at Summit work pretty hard. They're well supported, but the hours are probably longer than your average school.

Pros

Great for retirees or anyone in grad school, a lot of free time.

Cons

Some kids don't listen, and sometimes you have to deal with entitled, reckless drivers.

Pros

Good coworkers and positive relationship with students. Frequent PD weeks during expeditions Constantly given snacks in the staff room

Cons

Toxic work Environment, if you weren't personally liked by admin, or rocked the boat in anyway they would talk bad about you. It was almost as if we were still in high school...as high school teachers. There was a lack of transparency from Admin. There was a lack of proper training, I was asked to do unethical things while on the job, ex) asked to graduate my students anyway when they had not earned the grades to pass or had met the attendance expectations. Faced gender discrimination from a Coworker, creating a hostel work environment for me.
