Pros
During my time at SweatWorks, I had the unique opportunity to build a department from scratch, shaping it according to our vision and aspirations. The company's culture encouraged open communication, allowing me to freely express my ideas without fear of repercussions. Although not every suggestion was implemented, I never felt silenced. Unfortunately, the presence of some key individuals created challenges in the work environment, making it somewhat difficult to cope. However, after their departure, we were able to come together, pick up the pieces, and gradually restore what was broken. Despite the hurdles, I value the growth and experience gained during this journey.
Cons
Like many technology companies, SweatWorks faced its share of challenges due to a struggling economy and some unfortunate decision-making. As a consequence, the company had to make tough choices, leading to layoffs and the departure of valuable team members. It was a difficult period for everyone involved, and it undoubtedly left an impact on the company. However, it is essential to recognize that these challenging times also provided an opportunity for growth and learning, as companies often emerge stronger and more resilient from such experiences.
