I, of course, am concerned about any employees who expressed dismay regarding their employment experience with the company. We spend considerable resources to ensure our employees are supported and resourced to achieve success. However, my experience has been that such negative commentaries reflect an employee’s reluctance or lack of desire to accept accountability for sub-performance outcomes. I know it’s hard to be humble for the sake of improving one’s performance, but if one can learn to do so and consider the benefits, I’m confident beneficial outcomes can be achieved. Thank you for your comments, and I sincerely wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

The Michigan Office was a good environment in which to work; professional, friendly, relaxed, and positive for the most part. The personnel at the corporate office in Huntsville, AL were, at the time I was laid off, highly competent and responsive, although there tends to be a high turnover rate at the company with little forewarning. The Michigan new business developer worked hard to keep work coming in for the Michigan office. The work was challenging and interesting, and the Michigan training development team consisted of, overall, really great people with whom to work.

Cons

Salaries are low for skilled artists and developers because of budget issues. Work is project based and workers are laid off when a contract ends. There are fairly significant issues with retaining talented and skilled individuals. The company will try to find other work for you, but interruptions to employment occur repeatedly for anyone whose position is tied to a contract. Because layoffs occur once a year to every two years, it cripples team advancement. There is no time for research and development to make products more efficiently or advance new products. The lay offs are also extremely detrimental to morale. IT support in Michigan is also problematic because there was no dedicated on-site IT personnel, and it made it difficult to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot any problems that arose. It had a negative impact on workflow.
