Unethical, unhappy, misery. - Account Manager TSE Industries Employee Review

Pros

There are a handful of decent and competent employees, but it certainly isn't the majority. Decent free coffee, but only if you work in the Admin building. Otherwise, misery abounds.

Cons

Pretty much everything. The focus is rarely on the customer, or having a can-do attitude. Good luck providing a lead time or not having to flat out lie to customers because the idiot over scheduling still wants to use a quill and parchment rather than utilizing the ERP software. Even then a "promised date" comes with 25 qualifiers so that nobody has to take responsibility for anything. Employees have been caught flat out lying and its brushed off or ignored. The numbers are padded and changed, as long as it looks good on a spreadsheet for the owners then everything is good. The benefits are atrocious. Unless you have worked there forever (which a lot of people have and trust me even though that seems like a good thing at first, it most certainly is not) the PTO is pitiful. Heaven forbid you get sick because there goes any time off to yourself. Moreover, the insurance is expensive and covers some preventative care, but if you want to go to the Dr. expect to miss out on some pay or being dipping into your pitiful PTO. Oh yeah, back to unethical. If you see a good review on here it's because a pizza party was offered if the scores on here would improve. Way to get your underpaid hungry employees a millisecond of joy! Lies! I could ramble on and on about the negative that this place offers. My best advice if you are looking at a position here: move along. Don't waste your time having your happiness depleted and your soul crushed by working here. There are plenty of upstanding companies where employees are valued.

TSE Industries Response

Sorry to hear about your unhappiness with TSE. From reading your post, we’re quite certain of your identity and the reasons you no longer work at TSE. Normally, we do not respond to such posts but have chosen to do so to correct certain inaccuracies in your post. TSE Industries was started in the early 1960s by Walter and Helen Klingel, the grandparents of the current senior management, and was incorporated in 1964. We now have over 300 employees and sell our products around the world from right here in Clearwater, FL. TSE has grown by making our customers the focus of everything we do. With this growth, we have experienced occasional challenges including new system updates and software changes, but our goal is to make the systems work for our employees! People who are excited to support our growth do very well and succeed within TSE. We strive to better our workplace each day and that has resulted in over half of our workforce being employed with us for more than 5 years! You state that the benefits at TSE are “atrocious.” We respectfully disagree. We offer excellent health, dental, life, and disability insurance. We pay a large percentage of the monthly health insurance premiums for employees and their families. We offer a 401(k) Plan with a current match of 15% of the employee’s chosen deferral. TSE truly appreciates our employees’ feedback, and we understood there needed to be some changes with our PTO policy. We listened to our employees, and we are excited to announce a new PTO policy starting October 1, 2021. When hired at TSE, an hourly or salary comp is reviewed for each position. Our hourly pay and salaries are competitive across the board with the Tampa Bay Area, as well as the entire Southeast United States. We appreciate the feedback on TSE and wish you the best with your future endeavors.

Pros

little to no real oversite. many of the people in charge have any clue what gets down or by who. easy to get lost in the cracks and milk for an easy pay check.

Cons

to many people milking the company for a pay check or until they retire, i over heard one of the owners say out loud he wished he had a bulldozer so he could demolish the plant.
