Pros
Company is constantly growing and evolving. Very good benefits and amenities available to the employees. Here is a partial list of the benefits. Onsite health clinic, onsite gym, onsite gardening area, onsite group exercise classes, volunteer day off so you can be active in your community, 401K match (higher than many companies, may not be the highest but still a match aka free money), discounts with local and national companies for goods and services, health, dental, vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, MyTLink online training catalog and most importantly, we are a family owned company. There are just too many to list really and this list has grown over the years. First and foremost, this is a place of business and some employees lose sight of this. What I mean by this is we are here for the customers and if the customers stop buying from us, we as a company no longer exist. Do I get emails from my boss or higher up asking about the status of a particular situation or project I am leading? I do on occasion. It does not mean they are micromanaging, I view it as a question asking for an update. Every person within the company has a boss and when some employees get an email from their boss(es), they state how dare they question me. Quit taking this so darn personal. The bosses are empowered to make the best choice for all people involved at TVH and sometimes that means the employees do not get what they want and feelings may get hurt but it is not personal decision against the employee. It is what is best for the business as a whole (which includes our customers and the employees). Does the company want you to work hard? Yes. Do I have measurements/goals that I am expected to attain? Yes. Am I challenged almost every day? Yes and I like that about my job. Does the company want to afford you the means so you can play hard outside of work with your family? Yes. Do we sometimes do silly games and activities during our meetings? Yes. Does the company plan events throughout the year for its employees to try and say thank you? Yes. Is this company perfect? No and I do not know that anyone will claim us to be. The company is evolving as any living entity would. As with anything in life, you get out what you put in. If you do not like what is going on, be part of the solution and not the problem. We have several groups that are empowered with trying to make this the best place possible to work however, not ever idea can or will be implemented and not every employee will be happy all the time. That is just the facts of life and I challenge you to find a better company. I will honestly admit that I have not participated in all of the events offered by our company nor have I always been part of the the solution (as mentioned above) or taken advantage of all of the benefits that the company has sponsored, that is not for me personally. However, the company does this for its employees as a whole to try and make this the best place to work. I have had interactions with some of the executives, some of the founding family members and they have been nothing short of exceptional. People just have to remember that these individuals are charged with the running of a global corporation that still has a family feel. Every company has their issues but this one is actively trying to minimize them the best they can.
Cons
I would like to make more however, I think we all would.
