Pros

The other employees can make or break the culture. Sometimes the days are bearable simply because there are other employees in the exact same position you are. I've learned to make the best of it. No one wants to work here, but sometimes life doesn't go as planned and we have to play the cards we are given. It's the camaraderie of other people who are stuck in the mud that makes Take 5 bearable.

Cons

Pay. They will advertise a starting hourly rate of $15 only to offer you $10 an hour. The last time I made such little money was at Discount Tire, in 2012, and that was $11 an hour -- an entire dollar more. With inflation increasing 41.66% over these 14 years, no employee is making a livable wage. My location routinely hits 80 to 90 cars daily, which is a fraction of most quick service shops, and we never see a dime. The job itself is so physically demanding it's almost comical how little the pay is for such strenuous work. For those who have difficulty getting employment, a job is a job and the paycheck is a paycheck. It's bad enough most of the employees are dealing with their own issues, Take 5 merely adds insult to injury with the amount of compensation.
