Work Anxiety - Customer Technical Support Tandem Diabetes Employee Review

Pros

Remote work from home is great

Cons

Extremely micromanaged, questions get left unanswered a lot, always anxiety over adherence, average handle time, wrap up time, accusations you didn't do your job when the recordings sure sound like you did, other departments talking down to you. All these calls from patients with issues about the pump and supplies and we submit cases for them...is anything really being done to improve it??

Pros

When I started at Tandem in 2023 honestly it was a fine job. I didn't like my role specifically as I started on the phones and hoped to move up quickly. It started with supportive supervisors in our department and my supervisor did care about my growth.

Cons

While they claim to like to promote from within, they hardly ever actually do. You get stuck in your current position and unable to move up or even to another department. Once a competitor opened their doors, it got even worse. When Sequel MedTech launched, they got a lottttt of our good people and a lot of people started leaving. It ended up that one of the managers, and the three positions above him left (not all went to sequel but they all left about a month after eachother) so that left customer support basically bare bones. It just continuously got worse and I had to get out of there. SOO glad to not be dealing with the hierarchy and having to deal with patients making real complaints and recs, escalating that to management and getting no where. The only reason it's two stars and not one is because I know most call centers only pay like $12-14/ hr and I was making around $21 but truly the pay did not offset the headache of every day work there.
