Pros

I adore everything about Target. I've worked there for a year and a half now and I LOVE IT. -If you ask for extra hours, they will give them to you if you're a good worker and they have payroll left to give. -There are plenty of oppportunities for leadership. -If you have, or are on your way to receiving a Bachelors degree, there are plenty of opportunities within the company to grow. -In my experience, the management is FANTASTIC as well as fellow team members. -ETLs and STLs (Store management) expect a lot out of you, but they are very good at giving praise where praise is due. -If they like you, they will put you on educational leave when you are at school and put you back on the schedule whenever you come back for breaks. -If you are loyal to their company and to their brand, they are loyal to you and will do anything to help you succeed within their company. -10% team member discount + 5% RedCard discount = not half bad discount for a company so vast. -Clearances are pretty frequent and the stores do their best to make sure their employees have the first dibs on these sales. -Have a lot of team building activities. I truly do feel like Target is my work family and I miss them when I'm back at school. I'm two years away from graduating and I am on-track to get an internship next summer.

Cons

-Tends to be understaffed. Target is particular of what employees they hire and they are never in a hurry to replace STLs, ETLs, or TLs (Store team leads, executive team leads, team leads). This means that everyone has to pull their weight to get stuff done. -My department (Softlines) is chronically understaffed, so when one person calls out, there is always a scramble to call in another employee with the day off. -They frequently ask you to come in to your shift early or extend. Not a bad thing if you don't mind working, but you have to be flexible. If you consistently say no, they will stop giving you hours period. -During the busy times of the year, I often work 6 days a week, which is about 40 hours. -
