Pros

Extremely flexible with my hours for school, both while attending a community college and now while at university. I've been able to take leaves of absence for 6+ months for entire semesters of school and be able to return to work over school breaks and receive 30-40 hrs/week. This isn't necessarily typical, but I have also been at the same location for over 5 years and I am cross-trained in practically all departments (i.e. don't expect to start as a seasonal hire in November and be able to request 6 months off for the Spring semester).

Cons

One step above manual labor Very little thinking involved - mostly just complete whatever menial tasks are assigned by team leaders while completing your daily assignment (pushing/pulling CAFs, backroom, zoning, etc.) Extremely superficial recognition during morning/nightly team meetings

Pros

competitive starting pay, great merchandise discounts, and flexible scheduling

Cons

Management & Stress: The work experience depends heavily on local store leadership. Understaffing and the pressure to hit strict metrics (like those in fulfillment or front-end tasks) can lead to burnout
