Pros
- Home-like atmosphere. With it's all pros and cons, but in general it's a good thing. It's very hard to not know most of the people after a year or two. - Directness - people out there prefer more a direct contact, than 'channels' and 'procedures' - They really keep up with the technology and hardware - There are producers that really care for your work atmosphere and are there to support you - If something wrong is going on - people realize and talk it out. Weird situations get solved eventually, either they are personal conflicts or missed ideas in management. - They pay good actually - No strict corporate management
Cons
- Some of the decisive (especialy in Art department) people are here just because of their years experience, not actual experience, not really adding any value to the project. - People who actually know their stuff are easily fired if they are not 'liked' enough by majority (jealousy might sound like a cliche but here it's a real thing, especialy among artists) - A lot of good people working on the most profitable projects were either fired or left without any chance for negotiations - People with junior experience can easily get promoted - but they still remain juniors. - Almost none or very low bonuses - Almost no crunch, and if so it's negotiated in advance
