Pros
There was no option to choose "TTI-EMEA" as an option for company, so before anything else I'd just like to clarify it's the European section I work for, not US or HK -Very friendly working environment. -Hard work pays off. I started as a customer service grunt (not even IT related), and within a year I'm on my way to being trained to be Jr Sysadmin. If they see potential in you and you do more than the bare minimum, then you'll find yourself getting promoted in the blink of an eye. I received two promotions and doubled my salary in the span of a year. -Remote work possible -Bosses are leaders in all the right way. They guide you, and are there whenever help is needed, not looking over your shoulder constantly or trying to control you. -You are free to do whatever you want as long as the job gets done. Break times aren't set, nor monitored. You won't be scolded for resting for too long. Efficiency is valued far more over amount of time sitting in front of the desk. Get the job done and not one eyebrow will be raised if you disappear for an hour in the middle of paid working hours. -Teamwork is a major helpline and method of approach, you can count on your colleagues to help if you're in trouble or stuck.
Cons
-"Helpdesk technician" is a simple job description. The company tends to give very stripped down names for all their jobs. -Expect a severe learning curve and being overloaded/stressed until you get in the rythm. -Some jobs just need to be done and are in need of immediate and prolonged attention, and time flies... On infrequent occations I've had to stay later than my working hours. (I honestly can say it's not a con for me, because I've benefited in gaining experience, but it might be to others). -If you're a hard working person and are not only willing, but eager to learn, then disregard the first two statements.
