Pros

Cons

Recruiting: the job was very dishonest and misleading in the interview process. I’m someone who always ask questions in interviews to make sure the company is a good fit for me but the company was definitely lying. I would ask what the day to day activities look like they only talked about the events that you would do and the events were actually only done once a month for sales rep. They told me that the first role is an EMS (event marketing specialist) but there is no marketing what so ever within this job it’s actually really hilarious. They also talk about being able to get promoted and when I ask what is usually the time span they told me 9-14 months . When I got hired there were people for 2 years max. And their sales numbers were good. When they talk about a company vehicle..they say that it is a car but it’s actually a branded truck. I had never drove a truck a day in my life so it was a little nerve wrecking the first day. First day:lets start off by saying i was told that i would be hired as an event marketing specialist but when i got my paper work it said sales rep. my boss made me meet her to pick up my car (truck) and the whole process just seemed really rushed. She gave us the keys and my truck needed an oil change as well as gas. I just feel like if you hired me a month in advance why not make sure the cars are up to date and full of gas. I was actually shocked seeing that it was a truck and it made me nervous to the point where I felt very uncomfortable and I was nervous thinking i would wreck it the entire day. Once we got to the on boarding process it was also very hectic. We got phones that still had passcodes and information from the last employee (the phones should have been wiped) we all sat around one computer trying to do our own boarding stuff. When we should have been told to bring our own laptops. We drove to one of the stores where we just sat down and talked about things that should have been discussed in an interview. That is when i also found out that we were not salaried and got paid by the hour. My boss said, “I’m not paid by the hour. I’m salaried so i don’t have to clock in but you all do” it was just very condescending. Or she told the other person that was helping her do the on boarding process, “i taught you everything you know “ like it just was a belittling thing to say, like remember where you came from I made you. It just made not like the environment. Then I was the only black women out of the people that I was hired with. Even when I would try to start conversation with them you can tell they had already decided to click up where they wanted to. Which made me not feel comfortable in the environment which made me not want to talk as much as I usually tend to do. The first week all we did was resets….we didn’t go over how a day should start or how a typical day would go until day 5 and even then my boss got a phone call so she had to stop talking to us how it would go. The next week we all were in our own stores. I was paired with an ems who really couldn’t tell me much because he was an ems and i was a sales rep..different roles so certain things he would tell me he didn’t know. The job just doesn’t set you up for success. I spent the first week on my own just walking around attempting to do things but there was so many things in the way. Like asking the store associates for help was hard because they had their own work to do or them coming to steal your first phone because they also need it. The job does not give you the training, the tools, or even the help to be successful or to set yourself up for success. The training is awful. I went to school for marketing not to stock shelves. And even if that was what came with the job give more responsibilities to things i would do once i got into an actual marketing role with the company. (Which is hard because they want you to have a management role before u go into marketing) like its just not worth it when you can get a job doing marketing straight out of college. I had this job for 3 weeks lmao. I never quit a job so quick in my life. I was actually embarrassed and my boss told me it was very unprofessional which I agree but at the same time if you guys weren’t lying in the interview I would have not wasted their time or mine. I ended up getting another job and they wanted me to start two weeks after I quit but i was so ready to leave I just hurry up and got it over so I could be well prepared for my ACTUAL marketing job which paid more money than tti. Also side note: when i quit the current employees admitted to the training sucked, they were lied to about what they would be doing, and hated the job, one girl even cried about how she had way too many stores. They are taking advantage of college graduates but idc how much your paying me i went to school do marketing . Not stock shelves and be promised a management role which is not what i wanted.

Pros

- 50k Salary - Insurance coverage - Gas card - Company car (single cab F-150 with hideous Ryobi or Milwaukee decals)

Cons

Where do I even begin with the never-ending list of cons for this job? If you have a college degree, run away from this job listing. - 40 hours a week in Home Depot, Walmart, or Target - Recruiters will ask "if you are willing to work some weekends", they will completely hide from you that you will be working 29/52 weekends of a fiscal year, including every weekend from April-August (goodbye summer and social life) - The most useless job tasks you could imagine such as: dusting off display tools, rearranging boxes in the outdoor tools aisle, down stocking boxes from upper shelves, setting up a sales table (which you have to take a picture of to send to management every single day) - Sales numbers are completely dependent on if your store is high volume (if no one comes into your store there is nothing you can do to increase sales) - NO COMMISSIONS OR INCENTIVES on sales. (The best bonus I got for selling 10s of thousands of dollars of TTi product was a $10 dollar Dunkin gift card) - TTi claims upward mobility and swift promotions, but if you want to be promoted you have to move to Milwaukee or South Carolina - Promotions are given out to managers favorite employees, just an absolutely vile company culture. - YOU WILL BE VERBALLY ABUSED by customers and store associates (if you are a female the abuse is much much worse) - The company car/truck is heavily taxed, and company will make you pay for it - This is not even a salary job. They use a third party system to track hours, (you will get screamed at if you clock in at 7:01 rather than 7:00) - This job is literally so useless. No one will know if you are in the store or you are not, but the company tracks your phone location via GPS - There is no better way to put it other than saying "A MONKEY COULD DO THIS JOB" -I truly believe this job made me a less intelligent human being and was a slap in the face to my college degree. It is like shutting your brain off before going into work. Every.Single.Day. -One of the worst parts is how much emphasis management puts on you taking pictures of customers that buy product (99% of people do not want their picture taken by some random person in a Home Depot, and get offended when you ask) I was on a 10-person team when I started this job in February 2021. By April, 6 employees quit. By August, every person on my team quit. There is a reason the burnout rate of this job is so high. COLLEGE GRADUATES - PLEASE USE YOUR DEGREE AND FIND A COMPANY THAT YOU WILL GROW AT. TECHTRONIC INDUSTRIES IS A SCAM AND THE "JOB" IS TO MAKE TOP-LEVEL MANAGEMENT AS WEALTHY AS POSSIBLE.

Pros

None at all. Avoid at all costs.

Cons

This company is a cult. Employees all have the same LinkedIn Bio and all spew the same speech when it comes to recruiting. Nothing about this job is glamorous or even desirable. You don’t even get paid from TTI- it’s a whole other company. This job is hourly and not salaried. The first day they preached- do not clock in until this time and clock out exactly at this time-even if you get to your store before clock in time and work after hours, you will literally work for free in a Home Depot. This is a glorified Home Depot associate job. Recruiters lie about the job description and make it sound like a glamorous, straight out of undergrad job. Do not fall into this trap. The company car is ugly and full of stuff you’re expected to bring to the store everyday. They don’t even train you how to set up your sales table. If you like downstocking displays and cleaning aisles, then this is the job for you. Literally such a joke of a company. When I quit I was told “good luck finding a better job” so take with that what you will.
